Finally managed to bring my website and my sister’s websites back up after almost a month of downtime.

In my last post I was complaining about Netdata eating all the resources. Well after that the droplet just went down completely. You can’t even access the recovery environment. Power cycling the droplet simply returned a Kernel Panic error.

I had to completely destroyed the droplet and bring up a new one from scratch, setup LAMP stack and restore all of my websites manually. It wasn’t hard but it was pretty tedious, and I simply didn’t have that kind of time right now. It’s been a crazy few weeks:

  • My family moved to a new temporary apartment after our landlord decided to sell our old one, it was far bigger of an undertaking than I expected. I mean I moved a few times in my youth but I never realized how much more work it would involve when you have a family.
  • My mom had to go to the emergency room, again. Honestly, once you start to approach 40s, the thing you fear the most are phone calls from your relatives in the middle of the night. Thankfully it wasn’t anything too serious..for now
  • On top of that, I’m still working full time on 2 projects for North American clients

I might need to take a few weeks of next year for healing.
